Answer on @Quora by Robert J. Kolker to Do people in Europe and America still fear Islam?
Answer by Robert J. Kolker:
After the Cherlie Hebdo massacres and the riots against the Danish newspapers for printing cartoons of the Prophet it would be surprising if there were not some people both in the U.S. and in Europe that were not afraid or at least a little bit spooked. \
And there was always the London Underground bombing (done by Muslims) and the attack on the Spanish Railway Station (done by Muslims).
Now I am aware the the folks who did this were not average Muslims but the public can get a little bit nervous. Average Muslims do not try to stop un-average Muslims from doing god-awful things or do not try often enough to stop them. So they are painted with the same brush.
