Answer by Mitch Rees-Jones:

Digital Genius is the best conversational AI I've ever seen.

They've built a conversational AI similar to Siri (except much better). The idea they're working on commercializing is augmenting traditional customer support with automated conversation 'bots' that are trained to answer questions and offer assistance to clients.

Check out a demo of it working here:

They are also working on some more business areas (currently in private beta as of the writing of this answer) including:

  • Interactive onboarding – they're developing a tool that helps employees and customers with the onboarding process so they can get trained up quickly
  • Retail experience – They're working on transforming how online retail is done with more conversational experiences
  • Ad campaigns – Imagine if all ads were interactive and customized to you every time. That's what they're trying to do.
  • IOT (Internet Of Things) – They want to make it possible to communicate with IOT networks just with natural language. So instead of clicking some buttons on an input panel somewhere, you could speak into your phone (or similar device) and say, “Ok, turn off all the lights in empty rooms.”

Cool stuff. It'll be interesting to see where they are in a few years.
